I nostri antenati quando erano in caccia probabilmente si ricoprivano di pelli per confondersi con le prede che stavano cacciando e forse si ricoprivano di sostanze per nascondere il loro odore di "uomini" e non farle fuggire. Queste "pitture" con il tempo divennero un "simbolo" del loro stato di cacciatori. Ecco allora la ricerca di "pitture" da destinare a scopi rituali, simbolici o sociali. In questa fase nacque anche la pratica di dipingere le scene della caccia o di altri momenti della vita.

Our ancestors, when they were hunting, probably covered themselves with skins to confuse themselves with the prey they were hunting and perhaps they covered themselves with substances to hide their smell of "men" and not let them escape. These "paintings" with time became a "symbol" of their hunting status. Here then is the search for "paintings" to be used for ritual, symbolic or social purposes. At this stage the practice of painting hunting scenes or other moments in life was born.
